There is so much more to yoga than flexibility, strength and stamina. Those benefits happen to be some very nice side effects of a regular practice. There is a growing list of benefits associated with yoga; from detoxifying, pain management, decrease in blood pressure, weight loss, spinal health and the list goes on and on! Studies have shown that yoga aides in stress reduction, depression and contributes to a deeper mind/body awareness, which ultimately aides us in handling the day to day challenges with greater ease. As your body becomes more flexible as a result of your yoga practice, so will your mind!
Anyone can benefit from even one hour of yoga a week with more noticeable benefits being attained upon attending more frequently.
Trained in the Hatha Yoga tradition, I offer the following types of classes; Vinyasa Flow, Gentle, Restorative, Stretch & Tone and have created customized and themed classes that for private groups and youth sports teams.
I offer weekly Discover Yoga classes in the Calgary, Okotoks, High River and surrounding area. Discover Yoga emphasizes honoring your body, working at your own pace and comfort level while exploring where possibility lies for you.
In addition to regularly held classes, private groups/businesses, and sports teams, I am also available to work with individuals in a private setting.
You do not need to surrender your religious beliefs, be flexible, wear fancy yoga clothes, be a vegetarian or eat granola to enjoy the benefits of what yoga can offer you. It is my belief that yoga is for every-BODY. There is a style of yoga and teacher that is right for you.
